Both leaders said they are pleased with the positive progress in the relationship between Vietnam and the European Union (EU).

Prime Minister Chinh called on the two sides boost the exchange of delegations at all levels, especially high-level, and the effectiveness of cooperation and dialogue mechanisms within the Framework Agreement on Comprehensive Partnership and Cooperation between Vietnam and the EU.

The Prime Minister asked the EC President to push the parliaments of member countries to soon ratify the EVIPA, and the EC to raise its voice for the EU to soon lift its yellow-card warning concerning the IUU against Vietnam’s seafood exports and continue to support Vietnam’s fisheries to transform it into a modern and sustainable development model.

The EC President applauded Vietnam's anti-corruption efforts and noted the progress Vietnam has made in dealing with the "yellow card" issue for Vietnamese seafood. He said the EU strongly supports Vietnam in green transition and implementation of the Just Energy Transition Partnership (JETP) and called on Vietnam to continue to support the EU to strengthen ties with ASEAN.
