Vietnam confirms 18th case of Covid-19

(VOVWORLD) - A 27-year-old person identified as N.V.T tested positive to Covid-19, becoming the 18th infected case in Vietnam, the Ministry of Health quoted the National Institute of Hygiene and Epidemiology as saying on Saturday afternoon.

The patient, who was born in Ninh Binh province, returned to Vietnam from the Republic of Korea’s Busan on flight VJ981 on Wednesday. He had traveled to Daegu city, the Covid-19 epicenter of the Republic of Korea, on February 17. After entering Vietnam  at Van Don International Airport in the northern province of Quang Ninh, he was quarantined in a concentrated zone.  

On Friday evening, the Ministry of Health confirmed Vietnam’s 17th Covid-19 case, a 26-year-old patient who visited her sister in the UK, then traveled to Italy and France and returned to Hanoi on March 1. 

The previous 16 patients have been cured and discharged from hospital.
