(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam on Friday morning reported 1 new imported COVID-19 case, bringing total cases to 2,669.

The patient, a 55-year-old Vietnamese citizen, returned to Vietnam from Angola, and was immediately quarantined upon arrival in Bac Ninh province. So far, more than 91% of COVID-19 patients in Vietnam have fully recovered.

As of Friday morning, there have been 134.3 million COVID-19 cases worldwide and 2.9 million COVID-19 deaths.

As of Thursday afternoon, Vietnam had vaccinated more than 56,000 citizens, most of them medical workers.
