(VOVworld) - General Do Ba Ty, Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army and Deputy Minister of National Defense hosted a reception in Hanoi on Thursday for visiting Air Defense Commander Major General Tomas Valdes Hernandez from Cuba’s Ministry of the Revolutionary Armed Forces.

Ty thanked the Cuban people for their assistance during Vietnam’s struggle for independence and its current national construction. He said relations between the Vietnam People’s Army and Cuba’s Revolutionary Armed Forces have progressed and the two have maintained exchanges of delegations at all levels. Tomas praised Vietnam’s strong development and said he believes the affiliation between Cuba and Vietnam and their armies will continue to grow.
