During a forum on business digital transformation on Wednesday, Editor in Chief of the Vietnam Economic Times, Chu Van Lam, said businesses have a vital role to play in this process.

“The government aims to have 20% of the GDP generated by the digital economic sector by 2025, with average labor productivity surpassing 7% and ranking one of the top 35 countries in terms of innovation. Businesses are at the forefront of digital transformation for survival in response to the COVID-19 pandemic,” Mr. Lam said

Deputy Foreign Minister Nguyen Minh Vu said the digital transformation requires investment in resources and strategies in phases. He added, “The government and businesses are aware of digital transformation in the Industry 4.0 as a booster for Vietnam to narrow its development gaps with other countries towards sustainable prosperity. Digital transformation has helped ASEAN strengthen its connectivity for better labor output and GDP growth.”
