(VOVworld) - The US and Saudi Arabia has announced that the five-day cease-fire in Yemen will begin next Tuesday to facilitate aid to millions of Yemeni civilians in need.

With the statement, the Saudi-led coalition will halt air strikes targeting Houthi armed rebels in Yemen.

Saudi Foreign Minister Adel al-Jubeir said the "humanitarian pause" will be extended if it’s effective.

US Secretary of State John Kerry urged Shi’ite Houthi gunmen to respect and accept the humanitarian ceasefire.
