The measure passed Congress with strong bipartisan support. 

The new law will speed the Justice Department’s review of anti-Asian hate crimes, and designates an official at the department to oversee the effort. 

It also mandates a hotline to report anti-Asian hate crimes, training for officials on how to prevent and identify hate crimes, and raising of public awareness of hate crimes in the US.
