While echoing descriptions of the talks as “constructive,” State Department spokesman Ned Price told reporters “we would also, however, hasten to not allow expectations to outpace where we are.”
Meanwhile, an unnamed senior Iranian official said on the same day that Tehran is seeking to create consensus on a proposal to complete the nuclear talks in Vienna, warning that there is little time left to close the gap.
The meeting in Vienna was attended by senior officials representing China, France, Germany, Iran, Russia, and the UK. A US representative participated online from a hotel near the meeting venue.
