OCHA spokesperson Jens Laerke said just 600 of 900 aid trucks were cleared to reach Israel’s border with Gaza, but bureaucratic and security hurdles are making deliveries into the territory nearly impossible. He noted that only flour, requiring cooking, is reaching the population, warning that the entire Gaza Strip is at risk of famine.
Tommaso della Longa, spokesperson for the International Committee of the Red Cross and Red Crescent, said half of the organization’s medical facilities in Gaza are out of service due to shortages of fuel and medical supplies.
