(VOVworld) - Typhoon Kalmaegi (Luis) hit the northern part of Luzon Island, Philippines, on Sunday, causing strong winds and rough seas in the East Sea. The typhoon is moving west-northwest at speeds of 20-25 kph and is expected to strengthen in the next 24 hours. At 19h Tuesday, the eye of the storm is expected to be at 21º north latitude and 109º east longitude in the northern Tonkin Gulf, 170km east of Quang Ninh province.
