Biden began selecting his Cabinet on Monday. He named Alejandro Mayorkas his pick for Department of Homeland Security.
He plans to nominate Avril Haines, a former Deputy Director of the CIA, to serve as Director of National Intelligence.
Biden chose Antony Blinken for Secretary of State, Jake Sullivan for National Security Adviser and John Kerry for Special Presidential Envoy for Climate.
Biden is expected to nominate Michèle Flournoy as the US’s first female Secretary of Defense and named Linda Thomas-Greenfield as his pick to be the US Ambassador to the United Nations.
He wants Janet Yellen, former Chair of the Federal Reserve, to be his Secretary of the Treasury.
