Assigning tasks to the officers, Deputy Minister of National Defense Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien requested that they quickly grasp the local situation, immediately get to work, and perform well the assigned responsibilities and tasks.

The Deputy Minister asked the Vietnam Department of Peacekeeping Operations to coordinate with agencies and units throughout the army to develop Vietnam’s participation in United Nations peacekeeping.

Vietnam has so far sent nearly 800 officers and staff from the army and police forces as individuals and units at the three UN missions and the UN headquarters.
