Han made the pledge in a statement in Seoul on Saturday evening, hours after the National Assembly passed a motion to impeach President Yoon Suk Yeol.
Acting President Han announced that he has issued an urgent directive to strengthen the military’s state of alert and be prepared to respond to any potential crisis situations.
He also instructed the foreign ministry to maintain close communication channels with Japan and China, while broadly notifying embassies that South Korea's foreign policy will remain unchanged.
According to plans, Han Duck Soo will convene a cabinet meeting to discuss urgent security issues and deliver a public address.
