At a joint press briefing on Sunday, Han said President Yoon will not be involved in diplomacy or other State affairs. The Prime Minister will conduct State affairs until Yoon's departure, he said.

In response to the statement, Lee Jae-myung, chairman of the Democratic Party of Korea, criticized Prime Minister Han Duck-soo and expressed support for National Assembly Speaker Woo Won-shik's proposal to hold a meeting with the PPP leadership to discuss the suspension of the President's duties and said he hopes such a meeting will take place soon.
