(VOVworld) - The World Health Organization (WHO) said that Ebola has infected nearly 18,000 people in eight countries, killing 6,346 so far.

According to the WHO, the vast majority of cases have been in Liberia, Sierra Leone and Guinea, who have recorded 6,331 deaths. Sierra Leone has recorded 1,750 fatalities out of 7,800 cases. The disease is now spreading fastest in that country. The WHO declared Spain and Senegal Ebola free after 42 days with no new Ebola case.
40 medical personnel from the Canadian Armed Forces are now in Britain for specialized training before heading to Sierra Leone for a six-month mission.
