Russia-US tensions continue

(VOVWORLD) - Any actions hampering the work of Russian diplomats in the US will signal that Washington is not ready to normalize relations, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov said on Monday.

He said Moscow is closely monitoring all the signals regarding how the US will behave in the matter of organizing the diplomatic activities in the US. He said Russia still hoped the situation would not reach a more aggravated level. The Izvestia newspaper earlier cited a diplomatic source saying that Washington was considering tougher restrictions on travel for Russian diplomatic personnel within the country, as retaliation to the recent decision to cut the US diplomatic presence in Russia.
