NATO’s Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said Tuesday that NATO has already expelled 7 Russian diplomats, and will cut the Russian NATO mission from 30 to 20 people, adding that three Russian diplomats seeking to come to Brussels have been denied accreditation. The Moldovan Foreign Ministry said it has asked 3 Russian diplomats to leave Moldova within 7 days. Bulgaria said it has recalled its Ambassador from Moscow for consultation.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov accused the US of pressuring other countries to expel Russians and said the Kremlin will retaliate.
British Foreign Minister Boris Johnson said the collective expulsion marks a turning point in western countries’ approach to relations with Russia.
