Mr. Lavrov said the US measures are irrelevant to the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) in which Iran committed to cut down its nuclear program.

Mr. Lavrov's statement came after the US announced new sanctions against 18 individuals and entities for supporting Iran’s ballistic missile program and Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. Tehran denounced the sanctions and threatened retaliatory measures against US individuals and entities.
