Afterwards, both men had a brief meeting and then the two sides held talks and signed a cooperation agreement between their National Assemblies.

This is the first official visit by a key Vietnamese leader to Senegal in nearly 60 years since Vietnam and Senegal established diplomatic relations in 1967. The visit is of special significance in strengthening political trust, further deepening the friendly relationship, creating momentum to promote multifaceted cooperation, including parliamentary cooperation, and creating a legal framework for the governments and businesses of the two countries to forge closer ties.
