White House spokesperson Caroline Leavitt said President Trump will travel to Anchorage on Friday morning for talks with President Putin, emphasizing the US leader’s determination to prioritize ending military actions in Ukraine.
The spokesperson said the meeting will be strictly bilateral, without third-party participation, and will include a private exchange between the two leaders.
The White House has not ruled out the possibility of a future Trump visit to Russia or a trilateral meeting involving Russia, the US, and Ukraine. In addition to Ukraine, Trump expressed interest in discussing other areas of cooperation to improve bilateral ties between the US and Russia.
