This will be the first in-person meeting between US President Trump and President Putin since 2021, as President Trump seeks to persuade Russia to agree to a ceasefire to end the conflict in Ukraine, now in its fourth year.

Earlier, some sources suggested that the meeting would take place in the United Arab Emirates, given its strong relations with both the United States and Russia.
