Last February, Putin visited Beijing and met with President Xi. The two leaders discussed military and technical cooperation and stressed the importance of bilateral relations.

President Xi also met with Deputy Chairman of Russia’s Security Council Dmitry Medvedev in Beijing last week where he said he hopes all parties to the Russia-Ukraine conflict will show restraint and resolve matters by diplomatic means.
