During the meeting, the Prime Minister welcomed the company’s efforts to secure sufficient crude oil supplies to maintain continuous operations at optimal capacity through the end of May.

Amid tightening global supply conditions, he called on the refinery to ensure it can meet about 40% of Vietnam’s domestic fuel demand, with priority given to aviation fuel (Jet A-1).
He also noted that the Government is working to address logistical challenges in transporting crude oil to Vietnam via the Strait of Hormuz.

Emphasizing national sovereignty and humanitarian considerations, the Prime Minister urged the company to secure fuel supplies by all possible means, including imports from Russia, to keep the refinery operating, navigate current market disruptions, and safeguard the country’s energy security.
