The demonstrations, held under the slogan “For the lives of all of us,” were organized by the Peace Partnership coalition, an initiative led by former left-wing members of parliament (MKs) and activists. The rallies are seen as a rare large-scale wave of protests since the outbreak of the conflict, taking place in about 30 locations throughout Israel, from the Galilee region in the north to Beersheba in the south.
The protests come amid escalating tensions involving the US, Israel, and Iran, as well as continued confrontations between Israel and Hezbollah forces in Lebanon.
The participation of former lawmakers and numerous civil society organizations suggests that a significant segment of the Israeli public is growing increasingly concerned about the complex developments of the ongoing conflict.
