Party General Secretary To Lam attended and delivered a speech at the ceremony, which also saw the attendance of former Party General Secretary Nong Duc Manh, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, and National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man.
General Secretary To Lam reviewed and applauded the 100-year journey of the Vietnamese revolutionary press advancing side by side with the nation. He emphasized that in the new era, the press must unceasingly renovate itself commensurate with national development, truly becoming a professional, humane, modern press, serving the cause of the Party, State and People on the path of national construction and development.
“Journalists in the new era must constantly learn, hone their skills, and integrate modern technology. It’s imperative to truly become a leading flag, inspiring creativity, encouraging the spirit of reform and the desire to contribute among cadres, party members, and the whole society,” Mr. Lam said.

In the face of the wave of digital transformation and fierce media competition, the Party leader urged the press to quickly adapt, pioneer in mindset change, master technology, and make breakthroughs in journalism and information transmission methods.
“Key press agencies such as Nhan Dan Newspaper, Communist Review, Vietnam News Agency, Voice of Vietnam, Vietnam Television, and electronic information portals of central agencies need to focus on digital transformation, strengthen cooperation and integration, play a good forecasting role, perform well the function of information orientation, and be worthy of being "lighthouses" for the country's revolutionary press system. Renew the thinking of leadership, direction, and management towards facilitating the press to optimize its revolutionary nature and mission of serving the country and the people,” Party leader Lam went on.
On behalf of the Party and State leaders, the General Secretary presented the Ho Chi Minh Order to the team of journalists for their great contributions to the revolutionary cause of the Party and the nation. Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man also presented badges to the veteran journalists for their great contributions to the country's journalism.
