At a meeting with President of the Cuban National Assembly Esteban Lazo Hernández who is on an official visit to Vietnam and is co-chairing the 2nd session of the Vietnam–Cuba Inter-Parliamentary Committee (September 30–October 5, 2025), President Cuong stressed that Vietnam is ready to share experiences and expand multi-sectoral cooperation, particularly by drawing on the lessons of nearly four decades of national renewal process and deep international integration.

President Lazo affirmed Cuba’s commitment to implementing the outcomes of the 2nd Inter-Parliamentary Committee session, creating favorable conditions for Vietnamese enterprises in Cuba, and strengthening youth education to continue the tradition of friendship between the two countries. He also expressed interest in learning from Vietnam’s experiences in renewal and national development.

The two leaders agreed to instruct relevant agencies to effectively carry out commitments, with a focus on food and energy security, biotechnology, and other potential areas of cooperation.
