Mr. Hunsen said Mr. Lam's election as General Secretary demonstrates the trust of the Communist Party of Vietnam and the entire Vietnamese people in his capabilities and sound leadership.

He said he firmly believes that under Mr. Lam's leadership, the Communist Party of Vietnam will continue to achieve its goals, ensure political stability and socio-economic development, and maintain peace, stability and prosperity of Vietnam and the region as well.

Mr. Hunsen also said he believes that during Mr. Lam's leadership term, the traditional friendship, solidarity, and close cooperation between the two Parties will be further deepened for the benefit of the two nations and people.
