(VOVWORLD) -Vietnamese rice accounted for nearly 80% of the Philippines' total imported rice in the first 10 months of 2024, Vietnam Trade Counselor in the Philippines Phung Van Thanh said. He added that Vietnam has maintained its No. 1 position in rice export to this important market.

“Many Vietnamese rice businesses have had long-term business relationships with Philippine rice importers, creating prestige and trust in rice exports with Philippine customers. Vietnamese rice meets the diverse needs of Philippine consumers, from the large number of middle- and low-income populations to the wealthy classes, with competitive prices.”

“Vietnam's rice supply is stable in quantity and price and can meet the annual import demand of the Philippines,” he said.

The Vietnam Food Association hosted the 2024 rice trade promotion conference and expressed gratitude to customers in Manila, Philippines, on November 5. Over 20 reputable rice exporting enterprises that are members of the Vietnam Food Association introduced their products to representatives of over 70 Philippine businesses at the event.
