President meets Lao Front for National Construction chief, former leaders of Laos

(VOVWORLD) -President To Lam met with Sinlavong Khoutphaythoune, President of the Central Committee of the Lao Front for National Construction in Vientiane on Thursday, as part of his two-day state visit to the neighboring country.

The President applauded the results of cooperation between the Central Committee of the Lao Front for National Construction and the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and other partners of Vietnam. He requested the Lao front to coordinate closely with the Vietnamese side to effectively implement cooperation agreements in the fields of the front, mass mobilization, religion, and ethnicity and educate people about the historical traditions of the special relationship between Vietnam and Laos.

The Lao Front President emphasized that he will continue to coordinate closely with the Vietnam Fatherland Front and create favorable conditions for Vietnamese people to work and live in Laos.

The same day, President To Lam visited former Party General Secretary and President of Laos Choummaly Sayasone, former Party General Secretary and President of Laos Bounnhang Vorachith, and former Prime Minister of Laos Thongsing Thammavong.

President To Lam said he believes that under the leadership of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, Laos will further develop independence, autonomy and prosperity, and the Lao people will become increasingly prosperous and happy. He congratulated the achievements that the Party, State and people of Laos have recorded in recent years, including important contributions of former senior leaders of Laos.
