President Cuong asked Cuban Ambassador Rogelio Polanco to act as a coordinator between the two countries to promote bilateral cooperation in agriculture, energy, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, medical services, telecommunications, culture, tourism, construction, and transportation.

The Cuban Ambassador was also asked to help remove difficulties for Vietnamese enterprises to do business in Cuba.

The President agreed with the Ambassador on continuing to strengthen bilateral coordination and mutual support at international organizations and multilateral forums. He reaffirmed Vietnam's consistent stance calling on the United States to lift the embargo against Cuba and remove Cuba from the US’s list of countries sponsoring terrorism.
