Ukrainian newly-elected President Petro Poroshenko

(VOVworld) – Ukraine’s Central Election Commission (SIC) officially declared Peter Poroshenko the new Ukrainian President on Monday. The billionaire businessman won 54 per cent of the votes, far ahead of former Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko’s 13 per cent. Acting Chairman of the Ukrainian Parliament Aleksandr Turchinov said Poroshenko’s inauguration will take place this Saturday.
