During three days of the working trip packed with nearly 40 activities, Prime Minister Chinh made an important contribution to the overall success of the Summit. He and 35 leaders and representatives of BRICS member countries, partners and guests had in-depth and substantive discussions on strengthening multilateralism, economic, financial and artificial intelligence issues, the environment, COP 30 and global health.
At the meetings, the Prime Minister conveyed a strong message about boosting multilateral cooperation and affirming the role of developing countries in the global governance system, Deputy Foreign Minister Nguyen Minh Hang said.
In addition, many important and practical proposals were made in line with the concerns and interests of developing countries, including healthcare, environmental protection, climate change response, and disease resilience enhancement. Proposals that match global concerns are reforming international financial institutions; promoting South-South economic linkages; applying technology and AI to serve sustainable development; and ensuring equitable access to financial, technological and healthcare resources for developing countries.
Prime Minister Chinh met with many heads of state, heads of government, leaders of countries as well as partners, businesses, and organizations. He had extensive talks with Brazilian President Lula da Silva, where the two leaders agreed to continue to coordinate to ramp up bilateral relations commensurate with the framework of their Strategic Partnership.
On this occasion, Brazil exported the first batch of beef to Vietnam and Vietnam exported a batch of tra-basa fish and tilapia to Brazil, contributing to economic and trade cooperation, bringing practical benefits to the people and businesses of the two countries.
