Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh gives a speech at the second meeting of the Government Steering Committee for science, technology, innovation, digital transformation and Project 06.

“Data is a resource. To have Vietnamese intelligence, we must have Vietnamese data", the Prime Minister said, calling on every sector and locality to have its own database.

Taking the example of the data platform for the education and health sectors, Prime Minister Chinh said, “Education and training sector must set up a database of students from kindergarten to university. What is the gender proportion of male and female, what is their age? Have they finished school? We will know them right away. Or a database of diseases? There are now dozens of diseases, what is the most common disease? On that basis, we will orient what is the focus for investment."

"All of that is the database and intelligence. We do it systematically, focus on key points, and allocate resources appropriately.”

The Prime Minister requested ministries, sectors and localities to promptly register projects and tasks on science and technology, innovation and digital transformation for funding allocation in 2025, so as to meet the target of 3% of total annual budget expenditure for science and technology, innovation and digital transformation.
