Prime Minister Chinh on Wednesday proposed five pioneer points to build a wealthy, prosperous, and sustainable Asia during his keynote speech at a panel discussion titled “Is Asia's Century at Risk?” as part of the 16th Annual Meeting of the New Champions of the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Tianjin, China.

The Prime Minister stressed the need to pioneer in upholding peace, stability, cooperation, and development, and in safeguarding core principles of international relations; pioneer in developing science and technology, innovation, digital transformation, green transformation; pioneer in value chain and economic connectivity, and global integration; pioneer in promoting entrepreneurship, innovation, and business development; and pioneer in strengthening cultural and social connections, ensuring that people are at the center of all development policies and strategies.

“Asia is a pioneer in steadfastly pursuing the goal of maintaining an environment of peace, stability, cooperation, development and persistently protecting the core values in international relations. Proactively dialogue, manage disagreements, expand cooperation, strengthen connectivity within and outside the region; champion multilateralism, respect international law, promote solidarity, international cooperation, build and consolidate strategic trust so that Asia can truly become a reliable fulcrum of the world.”

To contribute to this process, Prime Minister Chinh proposed two initiatives. First is establishing an Asian Innovation Network, upholding the leading role of WEF and China in connecting research institutes, universities and businesses. Second is building an Asian Innovation Portal - an online platform to effectively and substantially support small and medium-sized enterprises and innovative startups.

Vietnam is ready to join in and hopes that the World Economic Forum, China and other countries will support and work together in realizing these initiatives, the Prime Minister added.
