Both agreed to deepen political ties, boost economic cooperation, focus on key infrastructure projects, and strengthen communication to raise public awareness on the bilateral special solidarity. They pledged to implement a cooperation agreement for 2016 – 2020 and promote the legacy of the Vietnam-Lao Friendship Year 2017.

During his meeting with Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen, Mr. Phuc praised Cambodia’s hosting of the Mekong-Lancang Cooperation Leaders’ Meeting. He reiterated Vietnam’s wish to promote good neighborliness, traditional friendship, comprehensive cooperation and long-term relations with Cambodia. Both leaders discussed the promotion of cooperation in trade, transport, finance and banking.
