(VOVWORLD) -Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on Monday met with and extended Lunar New Year greetings to outstanding cultural figures, intellectuals, artists, journalists, athletes, coaches, and entrepreneurs in culture, sports, and tourism.

The Prime Minister requested the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to continue removing institutional bottlenecks, train human resources, nurture talents, and focus on implementing the National Target Program on Culture for 2025-2035.

He also called for the fulfillment of key tasks that will pave the way for the effective implementation of strategies for the development of the culture and entertainment sector. PM Chinh stressed the need to improve cultural infrastructure, prioritize national-scale cultural institutions, and gradually reach international standards.

The Prime Minister particularly emphasized breakthroughs in Vietnamese sports, the harmonious development of mass sports and high-performance sports, while launching a movement for every citizen to practice a sport and using the people’s health as the foundation for national development.

Prime Minister Chinh also requested that tourism truly become a key economic sector and strive to welcome 25 million international tourists and 150 million domestic tourists in 2026.
