Speaking at the Conference on Disarmament in Geneva, Gharibabadi said the risk of a wider escalation was real, urging restraint. "We call upon all nations committed to peace and justice to take meaningful steps to prevent further escalation."
The same day, Omani sources said Ali Larijani, a senior adviser to Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, is expected to arrive in Muscat on Tuesday to deliver a draft agreement to the United States via Oman.
The draft will be reviewed by President Trump and senior US officials. Their assessment could determine whether a direct meeting with Iran goes ahead on Thursday or whether the window for a diplomatic deal closes.
Washington is said to be seeking more than broad principles or general proposals from Tehran. US officials expect a concrete draft resolution that could form the basis of talks at the planned bilateral meeting on Thursday in Geneva.
