The General Secretary outlined key orientations for further advancing bilateral relations in the time ahead. He said:  “Strengthening political trust and mutual understanding is the foremost foundation to deepen the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in a more substantive and effective manner. We need to promote the central role of economic and trade cooperation as the “priority of priorities” and make cooperation in science–technology, innovation, digital transformation, and human resource development new pillars of bilateral cooperation."

"It's important to create breakthroughs in cultural, tourism, educational, labor, and people-to-people exchanges, enhance close cooperation in multilateral and international mechanisms and forums, and work together to build and consolidate a rules-based international order with the United Nations at its core," said Mr. Lam.

General Secretary To Lam said Vietnam believes the the expansion of Korean enterprises’ investment, particularly in key industries and the development of specialized industrial production complexes along value chains in Vietnam will bring strategic mutual benefits to both nations. Joint projects in strategic transportation infrastructure, energy infrastructure, digital infrastructure, and climate-resilient infrastructure will strengthen Vietnam’s overall resilience.

On this occasion, Yonsei University President Yoon Dong-Sup conferred an honorary doctorate upon General Secretary To Lam.
