At the relic site, built nearly 1,000 years ago in 1070, General Secretary Lam introduced to his French guests the history of Khue Van Cac (pavilion of the constellation of literature), which is a symbol of Hanoi. It’s a two-storey pavilion with layered structure, sloping roofs and square basement. With four round windows facing the four directions, Khue Van Cac attracts sun lights which make it like a shining constellation.
Next, General Secretary Lam and his wife, along with President Macron and his wife, visited ancient architectural works such as Dai Trung Gate, Dai Thanh Palace, and the doctoral stele garden. They learned about the place that preserves and honors Confucianism and preserves the outstanding values of Vietnamese culture.
The hosts and guests watched water puppetry next to Thien Quang well, listened to Hue Royal Court Music in the main courtyard of the Temple of Literature, and enjoyed light music and folk songs imbued with Vietnamese cultural identity.
President Macron performed the Thunder Drum beating ceremony and viewed the photo exhibition on milestones of the Vietnam-France relationship.
On Monday afternoon, Party chief To Lam and French President Emmanuel Macron planted a friendship tree at the Ho Chi Minh Relic Site and visited the Ho Chi Minh Relic Site.
