Abbas said the report is not fit for the task of peace and that he hopes the Council will not support it.  Palestine Liberation Organization Secretary General Saeb Erekat also denounced the report, calling it an attempt to equate the responsibility of a people under occupation and a foreign military occupier. A Palestinian official said Palestine will no longer treat the Quartet as an entity, but will continue to work separately with members of the group.

Israeli Prime Minister Bejamin Netanyahu called that the report is “a myth” and said it’s false to consider Israeli construction of settlements in the West Bank an obstacle to peace.
