(VOVWORLD) -Pakistan and India have agreed to extend the ceasefire until May 18 after military-to-military talks, Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar was speaking to the Pakistani parliament on Thursday.

A comprehensive ceasefire was reached on May 10. India has reopened 32 airports and Pakistan has announced the reopening of its airspace.

Tensions have escalated in recent weeks since an April 22 attack in Pahalgam, in Indian-controlled Kashmir, that killed 26 tourists. The worst clashes between the two Asian neighbors in three decades are causing regional concern.
