Titled "Hang Trong Comics," the exhibit presents stories about Vietnamese cultural and spiritual life. The collection includes woodblock printing and color mixing techniques that reflect the humanistic values and culture of Hanoi.

Artist Phan Ngoc Khue said. "We haven't had the opportunity to see this kind of painting for a while. The paintings date back hundreds of years. During our country's fight for independence, large paintings like these weren't common."

He added that to create them, shop owners had to buy boards for engraving. Each painting needed 2-3 boards, which had to be joined and smoothed by a carpenter before painting could begin, Khue said.
