The National Tourism Year-Dien Bien 2024 will feature 170 national and international cultural, sport, and tourism programs and events.
Addressing the opening ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha called on Dien Bien province to roll out comprehensive and concerted measures in planning and investment attraction to create unique tourism products in association with the development of community-based tourism to promote the cultural identity of local ethnic minorities.
Every citizen needs to become a cultural ambassador with the responsibility to preserve and protect the environment and landscape, as they are the source of life for today and the future, he noted.
The Ban Flower Festival, which will run until Monday, boasts a diverse lineup of activities, including the U Va Legend open-air show, sport competitions, an exhibition of local specialties and craft village products, and traditional art performances.
