The money will be given to marine police and fisheries surveillance forces who are safeguarding Vietnam’s maritime sovereignty. Overseas Vietnamese in Angola voiced their support for the Party and state’s handling of the issue, and reiterated their determination to support the defense of national sovereignty.

In New Zealand’s capital Wellington, Vietnamese gathered at the Chinese Embassy, along Lambton Quay street, and at the Parliament and Government Houses, carrying Vietnamese flags, posters, and banners demanding that China withdraw its oil rig from Vietnam’s exclusive economic zone. It was the second demonstration in New Zealand since China deployed the oil rig in Vietnam’s waters in early May.
