(VOVworld) - The International Francophonie Organization sent a diplomatic note to the Vietnamese permanent mission to UNESCO in Paris to express its concerns over China’s illegal deployment of the Haiyang 981 oil rig in Vietnam’s exclusive economic zone.

China's provocative action in the East Sea

The note called on all parties to resolve tensions through peaceful solutions and dialogue on the basis of international law.

Earlier, UNESCO also sent a diplomatic note to the Vietnamese permanent mission to UNESCO to voice its concerns over the escalating East Sea tensions, urging all sides to restrain and resolve tensions through peaceful solution in line with international law including the UN Charter.
