He warned that if the outbreak is not contained, hundreds of thousands of people could contract the virus causing great economic and human losses for every country around the world.

Speaking at the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in Atlanta, Georgia, Obama pledged that the US will do its utmost to help West African governments and their healthcare systems, especially in Liberia, Sierra Leone, and Guinea, the Ebola hot zone. The US will focus on training healthcare workers and building treatment centers. Obama expressed his belief that the world community has enough scientific knowledge, experience, and resources to successfully cope with the deadly disease.
