The firing came 10 days after Scaramucci was appointed to the position, which triggered the resignation of Press Secretary Sean Spicer and Chief of Staff Reince Priebus. Spicer had expressed dissatisfaction with Trump’s decision to appoint Scaramucci.

The firing of Scaramucci was at the insistence of the new Chief of Staff, General John Kelly.
