State Department spokeswoman Heather Nauert said the US is disappointed with Russia’s move. She said US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson telephoned Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, and US ambassador John Tefft met Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov. Tillerson said escalated tensions will not help improve US-Russia relations.
