The event celebrated the 327th anniversary of the founding of Saigon-Cho Lon-Gia Dinh-Ho Chi Minh City and 49 years since the city was renamed after President Ho Chi Minh. The program highlighted the proud history, culture, and people of the southern region over three centuries of struggle, reconstruction, and development. It honored traditional values and conveyed the city’s spirit of innovation, integration, and global ambition in the new era.

This year’s event came with Ho Chi Minh City entering a new phase as it merges with Binh Duong and Ba Ria-Vung Tau, a major turning point in the urban development of Vietnam’s southeast region.

In Da Nang city, an art program and fireworks display were held nurturing people's trust in Da Nang’s growth and the new era of national rise. The program expressed the deeply affectionate bond between Quang Nam and Da Nang and praised the patriotism of the region’s people.

Nguyen Van Cung, a Da Nang resident, said that the art program brought a joyful and uplifting atmosphere to the city. “It marked a milestone in the political landscape and in the hearts and minds of the people. The merger involves a major transformation in the local governance structure, but people are enthusiastic about it. The reform has garnered widespread support from the public,” said Cung.

An art performance and fireworks show, themed “Ca Mau: Solidarity for Development – Steadfast into the Future”,  took place in Ca Mau province to celebrate the administrative restructuring and merger of Ca Mau and Bac Lieu province.
