National Assembly Chairman meets with overseas Vietnamese in Malaysia

(VOVWORLD) - Upon arriving in Kuala Lumpur for AIPA-46 and an official visit to Malaysia on Tuesday, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man and his spouse met with embassy staff and representatives of the Vietnamese community in Malaysia.

At the meeting, Chairman Man urged the embassy to uphold Vietnam’s foreign policy of independence, self-reliance, multilateralization and diversification to further strengthen bilateral ties.

He urged the Vietnamese community to uphold solidarity and active engagement in business and science to apply advanced technologies back at home.

"Malaysia leads in digital transformation, semiconductors, and artificial intelligence. I hope our community will study and invest here, then bring those experiences back to Vietnam," said Mr. Man.

He also called on the Vietnamese community in Malaysia to promote Vietnamese language and culture to preserve their heritage while contributing to the homeland.

The Vietnamese community in Malaysia now numbers over 40,000.
